| What
should I bring
Visitors
should bring an axe. Wood blocks are provided, however they
are not split.
Wood is a limited resource
so the wood is for cooking at campfires only, not
bonfires. Extra wood may be picked up off the paddocks.
Do not bring wood in from Queensland
that may be contaminated with soil. Timber
off-cuts from a building site are OK however the quarantine
laws are very strict
and wood collected from out of paddocks in Queensland may have
been exposed to cattle
tick. The fine for bringing such timber across the border
can be as high as $12.000. Bring
toilet paper; Please
use the flush toilets or the long-drops on the park, Do
not foul the park Aerogard
or Rid. Mosquitoes can be a problem at some times of the year.
Insect repellent sprayed
liberally over your socks will help discourage leeches. Dogs
should be treated with frontline for their own protection
Bring a fire lighter and
newspaper.
We are 400 meters above sea
level so it can become chilly at night so visitors
should bring some warm clothing and bedding Phone
us before you come if you have any doubts about the weather.
Best times to visit. Winter
offers warm days and clear skies at night and a spectacular
star show at night If
you are well prepared for the cold nights then winter is the
best time of the
year to visit.
