Levuka
offers "soft Driving" on a range of tracks graded
from easy to extreme. We aim to give challenging driving
without doing excessive vehicle damage. Tracks carry an
approximate grading, however those grading will increase
by two to three in wet weather. Our commitment to
environmental sustainability is genuine and tracks will be
closed in wet weather if degrading has occurred. Special areas
have been set aside for groups with full rescue equipment.
Under development is "Old Nicks Nest", a grade 5+
network and a rock gully crawl that will follow Bullant
gully..
Easy tracks. For
the beginner our scenic drives and easy climbs help you gain
confidence. During dry weather some of the rainforest tracks are
suitable but conditions rapidly deteriorate in wet conditions. The
open areas are the safest choice.
Medium Tracks. These
tracks are best when approached in a group. The rainforest end of
Dingo's run is medium driving for the first vehicle but becomes
harder with each vehicle as water is carried up the steep slope.
The play ground {for big
boys}is a gully with a range of climbs from easy to hard. In
prolonged wet weather a mud hole is also available in that area.
The Test Track. is an area
designed to develop skills with Diff-locks. Further development is
planned for this area.
The hard tracks are only
for the daring.
